as a firsttimer, you cant do it by yourself. ask a salesrep to advise a shade thats matches yours. or you can just try products on. the downfall of drugstore makeup is that occasionally there arent any testers available, which is why i use department store makeup because the specialists there do all the work for you and testers are always available, and if you ask nicely, samples!I am going to began wearing concealer and foundation make-up. This is what I do, I go the a make up counter..like the first poster said, they have those at Macy's then I buy what they use on me. In the future, I keep those bottles to take to the drugstore with me to match the colors up with store that they sell there.
There's lots of website's that will give you ideas but I would just go to a beauty counter at a macy's or dillards or something like that they will help you determine your best choices or even go to marykay.com i love their makeup and skin care lines!
I always find a mirror(compact usually)and compare it to my face.
