How do i clean an expensive foundation make up brush?

Most foundation brushes, expensive or not, are all generally made from synthetic fibers, generally nylon. They are made with synthetic hairs to create flawless strokes and so that your foundation doesnt go into the hairs, as natural hair would do. It also helps to prevent any bacteria from growing on the brush since natural hairs hold onto germs and the oils on your skin.

Wanting to wash your brush is great as I've had many people come in with brushes to return them because they ';stop working.'; Gross!!!

Onto the question, all you need to clean your foundation brush is a little shampoo or even dish soap!! Either of these work because they are made to remove build up and oil. Do NOT use dish soap on your blush or powder brushes though, because they are probably made from sable! You can thouroughly wash them this way and lay FLAT to dry. Do not put them back in your case because the water can get into where the glue holds the brush together and destroy it.

I read a couple previous answers and hot water will not work. At all so don't bother. MAC brush cleaner works, but why spend the money if you can use whats already in your home?

Ohk, get a mild soap, or shampoo. I use some generic brand baby shampoo. First, hold your brush with the bristles down and the handle up and run it under warm, not hot water. Then, squirt about a dime sized dollop of your soap in your palm and gently rub the brush in it. You can sort of squeeze the brush to remove the makeup. Just be gentle so you don't break hairs off. Rinse it off again with warm water when you are done cleaning the makeup out of it. Make sure you squeeze the excess water out of it too. Then you can just reshape it and lay it flat to dry on a towel. Hope I helped =]How do i clean an expensive foundation make up brush?
they have brush cleaner that you can buy at the drug store-you spray it into a paper towel and then rub it into the bristles. bare minerals makes a brush cleaner and it smells really good.
